Borrell Honored with the Innovation Award at the 2025 Sant Isidre Fair in Castalla, Alicante, Spain

Castalla, Alicante, Spain, May 23, 2025 – Borrell®, a leader in technology for processing almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts, and other nuts, has been honored with the 2025 Innovation Award during the Sant Isidre Fair in Castalla, Alicante, Spain, a landmark event for the agricultural sector organized by the Montaña-Vinalopó Agricultural Cooperative Society COOPV-La Trencadora. This recognition underscores Borrell's pioneering role in developing technological solutions that are revolutionizing the agro-food industry.

The award ceremony took place on Friday, May 23, in the afternoon at the visitor reception center of the fairgrounds, shortly after the opening of the Sant Isidre Fair. Josefa Borrell, representing the company, received the award and expressed her pride: "This award is a recognition of our entire team's efforts to innovate and provide solutions that enhance productivity and sustainability in the sector. We are deeply grateful to the Castalla Cooperative for this honor and more motivated than ever to continue leading the way."

The "2025 Innovation Award" highlights Borrell's transformative impact on the nut industry, with innovations such as the new HyperQuadro® almond crackers, the iconic Borrell Smart Sorter®, the novel Borrell Smart Sorter® Vision AMX (bitter almond sorter), the Borrell PlantManager® software, and the recent Borrell PistaCrack®, an all-in-one machine that optimizes pistachio shelling and separation. These solutions reaffirm Borrell's commitment to productivity and efficiency, solidifying its position as a global benchmark in the sector.

During the event, the newspaper Información was also honored, receiving the "2025 Sant Isidre Communication Award" for its valuable contribution to the agricultural community, collected by photojournalist Juani Ruz. Additionally, the Spanish Association of Organic and Conventional Almond Producers (Aepaec) received the "2025 Promotion Award," accepted by Rogelio Pardo. The award ceremony, hosted by journalist Julio Vicedo, was attended by prominent figures such as Juan Planelles, Regional Director of Agriculture of the Generalitat; Jesús López, Mayor of Castalla, Alicante, Spain; and Josep Miró, President of the Montaña-Vinalopó Agricultural Cooperative Society COOPV-La Trencadora.
